  • Petroleum Legislation and Agreements: Administering and overseeing petroleum legislation and agreements.
  • Technical Audits and Assessments: Conducting technical audits, rig safety assessments, and inspections of drilling and production platforms/vessels.
  • Accident Investigations: Investigating the causes of accidents and incidents in the petroleum industry.
  • License Management: Receiving and processing applications for petroleum exploration licenses, participating in license negotiations, and awarding licenses.
  • Industry Monitoring: Monitoring the activities of oil exploration and distribution companies to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Petroleum Products Regulations: Enforcing the Petroleum Products Regulations, 2000, relating to the import, supply, storage, possession, and sale of petroleum products, as well as licensing and conducting business by industry stakeholders.
