The Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy (MIME) recognises the importance of strong relationships with our stakeholders. We are committed to open and transparent communication, active engagement, and collaboration to ensure that our policies and initiatives align with the needs and interests of all stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement Opportunities:

Public Consultations: We regularly conduct public consultations to gather feedback on proposed policies and initiatives.
Workshops and Conferences: We organise workshops and conferences to facilitate dialogue and knowledge sharing.
One-on-One Meetings: We are available for one-on-one meetings with stakeholders to discuss specific concerns or interests.

By engaging with our stakeholders, we aim to build trust, strengthen partnerships, and ensure that the MIME’s activities contribute to the sustainable development and prosperity of Namibia.

Namdeb Diamond Corporation (Pty) Limited is owned in equal shares by the Government of the Republic of Namibia and De Beers Centenary AG.
Rossing Uranium Mine is situated 65km East of the Namibian town of Swakopmund, where uranium oxide is extracted from the world’s largest open cast uranium mine.
Ongopolo Mining and Processing Ltd is a wholly Namibian-controlled company which took over one of the country’s foremost copper and lead producers, Tsumeb Corporation Ltd (TCL) after it was placed in liquidation by the holding company, Gold Fields Namibia.

NamPower is the National Power Utility Company in Namibia.
National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia’s (NAMCOR) ensure the optimum exploitation of Namibia’s petroleum resources and meaningful Namibian participation in resulting business developments in petroleum related exploration activities. They also advise and assist the Ministry of Mines and Energy in monitoring the exploration activities of licenses.
Electricity Control Board (ECB) is a statutory regulatory authority established in terms of the Electricity Act, 2000 with core responsibility of regulating electricity generation, transmission, distribution, supply, import and export in Namibia.
Burmeister & Partners Consulting Engineers is a local engineering company with form part of the multinational consortium that prepared the Feasibility Study of the Epupa Hydropower Project.
